Why The Double Dog name?

Easy, Aspen is a super dog friendly town, and the double dogs are our two dogs. The yellow, (really half yellow and half golden) is Eddie Mac, named after Denver Bronco Ed McCaffrey.
Go Broncos! He autographed a photo of them in their Broncos uniforms (check it out next time you come in). The Black, is Desdemona. “Princess Desdemona”, officially. Her name does not come from Shakespeare though but Jimmy Buffett. Desdemona is a character in Jimmy’s songs and books.

We are huge Parrott Heads and even have devoted one of the pub walls to “Parrott Head Parkway” a shrine to all things Buffett. Jimmy also signed a pic of the dogs in their Parrott Head finest. These dogs really get around!

In keeping with the theme, the new Yellow Lab puppy is named Margarita for short. Although her official name is ”Princess Desdemona’s Top Shelf Margarita”. Take a look at Margarita with the other pups, she is the only yellow out of the litter.

One of the most popular spots in the pub is our “Doggie Wall of Fame”. In the short 3 years we have been open we have received hundreds of photos of people’s dogs in all sorts of settings and costumes. Each one is displayed framed with the dog’s names and the location written on each pic. We figure someday we may run out of room, but we won’t stop until all of the walls and ceilings are covered.
